The middle English word of “luck” is “lucke”, which is referred to as “gelücke” in middle high German. “Lücke” means “gap” in German and nowadays “Glück” still means “luck”. The etymology may indicate that “gaps” make people lucky. We need rest and “gaps”, and there is no need to fill up any things, space or time. The “gaps” make us different from machines.
